Membership refunds and cancellations
What is retained, what is refunded, and when.
Before a membership decision
The application fee becomes nonrefundable once application review begins. The screening fee becomes nonrefundable once screening is completed. If an applicant withdraws after those services occur, those fees are retained.
If an application is denied
Any annual dues or initiation fee collected for that application are refunded in full. Application and completed-screening fees are not refunded.
If an approved applicant does not initiate
The initiation fee is refunded when initiation does not occur within the configured deadline. The application does not convert to membership. Annual dues must not be collected before National approval.
After initiation
Annual dues are not refunded when a member resigns during the membership year. Approved payment reversals and chargebacks are recorded as reversals in the distribution ledger.
